St Lucia has been on my bucket list for awhile, but finally getting to experience this island was even more wonderful than I could ever have dreamt.

The perfect combination of relaxation and adventure

There is so much to do (or not do if you wish) on this beautiful island. Hiking, snorkeling, sailing, swimming, and beach lounging to name a few.

The highlight of our trip was an excursion with Joy Cruises. In one well planned day, we took a catamaran to the town of Soufriere where we went to the drive in volcano for a mud bath. Afterwards we rinsed off in the Toraille Waterfall. A wonderful lunch was provided and we snorkeled afterwards between the iconic Pitons. The cruise back was filled with rum punch and dancing. A perfect day in my book!

If you are looking for hiking, the most popular is hiking the iconic Piton Mountains. This hike is strenuous and takes about 4 hours to complete. It also is about 1.5 hours away from most resorts. We chose to hike Mt Pimard in Rodney Bay. This consists of a guided 1.5 hour hike with beautiful 360 degree water views at the top.

The locals have amazing hospitality and warmth

No matter whether you are looking to lounge on the beach with a drink in your hand or seeking action packed excursions, St Lucia has it all!
